  • Dr. Ahrens earned her Ph.D. in School Psychology from the University of California at Berkeley, graduating in 2024. She completed her undergraduate degree in Medicine, Health, & Society and Anthropology at Vanderbilt University in 2016. Dr. Ahrens was a 2016 Teach for America Hawai’i Corps Member on the island of Oahu. She gained clinical expertise during her doctoral training in schools, private practice, university-based, and outpatient clinics in the San Francisco Bay Area. Dr. Ahrens completed her internship and postdoctoral fellowship at the Berkeley Psychology Internship Consortium (B-PIC) and at the California Pacific Medical Center Kalmanovitz Child Development Center. A Nationally Certified School Psychologist (NCSP), she is licensed to practice psychology in California. 

  • Dr. Ahrens is passionate about supporting children, teens, and parents through therapy, consultations, and neuropsychological assessments. She utilizes an integrated, evidence-based process to assist children and families navigating complex developmental, psychological, and learning challenges. Dr. Ahrens conducts comprehensive psychological and neuropsychological evaluations to provides evidence-based therapeutic interventions. She collaborates with allied health professionals, educators, and families to coordinate care. She has experience in assessing, diagnosing and treating children and adolescents with ADHD, autism spectrum disorder, intellectual disability, learning differences, anxiety, and depression. In clinical work, Dr. Ahrens makes use of an integrative approach and draws on cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectic behavioral therapy (DBT), family therapy, play therapy, mindfulness tools, and motivational interviewing. As a former high school teacher and school psychologist, Dr. Ahrens has expertise in supporting families seeking to navigate the education system, including Individualized Education Programs (IEP) and 504 plans.
