In school, Fernanda is a Marriage and Family Therapy Intern at Aloha Psych with a background in education and school counseling, working with children, teens, couples, individuals, and families. As a certified parent educator since 2007, she brings years of experience teaching practical, evidence-based tools that support emotional growth, strengthen relationships, and build everyday life skills.

  • Fernanda specializes in working with individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, stress, and emotional regulation, parenting challenges and family relationships, self-esteem, identity, and personal growth, and relationship and communication challenges, including couples work and life transitions. She works with children as young as 5 years old, adolescents, adults, couples, and families. She is bilingual in English and Portuguese and brings a culturally responsive perspective to her work, helping clients feel understood, supported, and empowered to see challenges as an opportunity to grow.  Given this, Fernanda is experienced working with multicultural and international populations, including bilingual clients and military families. Fernanda is also a Certified Play Therapist and Certified Positive Discipline Parent Educator and Lead Trainer from Adlerian Psychotherapy, BASIS-A Lifestyle Inventory.

  • Fernanda’s therapeutic approach is experiential, grounded in Adlerian psychology, and integrates evidence-based practices, including psychoeducation and relational work, all guided by values of empathy, collaboration, and cultural responsiveness. As a TEDx speaker and Lead Trainer in a global parenting program, she brings a strong focus on practical tools that translate insight into everyday change. She believes therapy works best when clients feel actively involved in the process of making meaning of their experiences and relationships. Clients can expect supportive, collaborative, and goal-oriented sessions that focus on building skills, increasing self-awareness, and fostering lasting growth. She strives to create a space where clients feel safe, respected, and empowered to approach their challenges as opportunities for growth.

  • Outside of her professional work, Fernanda enjoys dancing salsa, hiking, reading, and cooking for her family and friends.
